Here is a video of the winning game, if you are interested. This is probably way more exciting for us over here than it is on that side of the world. I just feel so honored to have been here for this and want to share it with you.

World Champions!!!!!
Linds and I took Nokatula to her gymnastics competition on Sat. It was so cute and then we took her out for lunch to celebrate .
When we were waiting for her to go on, there was a little market there and we found this lady that had S. African stickers and we put them to support this country. Ah man it was such a fun day to be with Linds.
Here we were at the Pastor's house getting ready to have supper before the big game! As you see Peter and Linds are wearing the South African colors!
And this is after South Africa became world champions 2007 for Rugby!!! What a crazy night, we were so nervous and shouting and standing, it was a great time by all. I tried to phone the pastor's son after it was over and I could hardly hear him because of all the noise. I feel so privileged to have shared in this experience with them, I think it might be a once in a lifetime event! And as you can read on Linds' blog we were made honorary South Africans!!!! What a honor! (I think I am starting to feel a little more south African now, but I will always be Canadian at heart!!!)
Well must go, have a wonderful day!

Braai
This is a picture of Pastor Peter and Pieter and Christo, they are all on the team here (and they are braaiing)
Last Sun. we had a braai, and it was really a lot of fun. It was not only nice to have the braai but it was so good to be together as a team and just relax. We had good food and good fellowship and a fun time with the hoola hoops and a water thing a soccer ball and a frisbe. We had quite the ordeal with the soccer ball. You see we were playing with it and it got stuck up in a tree, so we tried to throw a shoe to get it out. This worked fine when Pieter was trying but the first time I attempted to throw the shoe it also got stuck in the tree!! Ahhh then the fun started we had the two boys in the tree and they couldn't get to it and then we found a piece of brick and we started to throw that which resulted mostly in us running so that we wouldn't get pounded on the head. I am happy to say that after much effort we got the soccer ball out and after even more effort we got the shoe as well. So fun times were had by all whether they were watching or running from the flying brick!
And this is just part of the team at tea time. We stop work at ten and come together for tea, which is a great idea or else we might not get to see each other that much during the day as everyone is off doing his or her own work. Ok gotta run the phones are being fixed and so I must go and help with that. Cheers. D

Answered Prayer!
I forgot to tell you that the Lord answered our prayers for my younger sister. I phoned her the other day and she told me that they finally offered her a house and it is a good one in a good area. (She's moving today Fri.) PRAISE THE LORD!!! God is so incredible! Thank you for all the prayers that went up for her, please continue to pray now that she would be able to get some furniture and beds and blankets, kitchen stuff, just all the things like that to put into her house to live. Thanks again for all the faithful people who prayed for her, I appreciate it so much. (If I already told you about her getting a house please forgive my bad memory)
Ok now I am really going, have a great day! Love D
NewCastle
Good Morning!
Here are just some pictures of the trip that we took down to Newcastle. It really was a great time. We went to a store called Game first, it's a little like a Walmart so it was fun.
When we first got there it started to pour outside and so we were just having random fun inside as we shopped. Lindsay bought these and they go nicely with the pictures that she got. It was so nice to have her there to share the day with.
Because it was in the morning and cold we went to the wimpy and picked up some Cappuccino, it was so nice and warm. We were able to get some stuff for the mission and some things for the kids club and of course some other goodies for ourselves.
When we were finished shopping we went to this coffee place called the gecko and had lunch. The food was great, it was the first time that we went there, some of the ladies from home told us about it and actually that day we saw one of the couples from our home group there. All in all it was a really great day and it was nice to be with Marysa and Linds! I am so thankful for them.
You know as I look at these pictures and look at some of the pictures that I just took of the townships and the poor, it is such a huge contrast, wow we are so blessed! The other day it was raining here and it was quite cold. I was taking Linds to the creche and we saw an old lady who was walking in the rain with no shoes and no umbrella, it was so sad. Just seeing her brought tears to my eyes and as I went home to everything that we have I cried, I feel so blessed and priviledged to have a warm bed and an umbrella and shoes and socks and hot food to eat. Just that little bit alone is more than so many here have! Even as I write this my eyes fill with tears with the memories of all the people that don't own one pair of shoes and and don't have jackets or hot food to eat. So please pray for the poor here that the Lord would enable us to provide for them from our many blessings! The people really are so beautiful and are so incredibly thankful when they get anything. And please if you see someone who is poor or needy, please help them, you never know how much you will bless them.
Have a wonderful day! Cheers. D

Ah Summer!
Summer has come and today is the first time that they are mowing the lawn in a long time. There are so many glitches and troubles that come with our lawn mowers so please if you remember could you pray for our machines, I know that it is not a really important thing but it becomes a hassle for us as there is quite a bit of grass to take care of here.
And it has been raining here for about the last week, we are praising the Lord for that. It always amazes me how the Lord answers every prayer, maybe not in the time that we think but according to His perfect timing!
It was so nice this morning we had prayers at 6am in the chapel and we just spent time worshiping and praising God. I felt so convicted as were doing this because more often than not I focus on the problem or the prayer requests and become anxious about it instead of just trusting our great and mighty Heavenly Father who owns this world and everything in it. God is so powerful and faithful and yet I doubt or think that the needs for prayer are maybe just a little to big for God when that isn't true at all.
It's so good to refocus on God and how nothing is impossible for Him!
Well I should go, but just wanted to do a quick update. Cheers. D

Medals again!
Well the boys came back from Nationals for the Skipping competition and they got gold and silver for the double dutch part of their routine. Wow they are so good and we are so proud of them and I hope that they continue on in this way until they are men and then maybe they can become coaches. I just hope that they stay away from the alcohol and the drugs, they are doing so well at the moment being focused on their skipping and coming to kids club and church. Please pray for them that they would grow to love the Lord. Thank you so much, they mean a lot to us, and they are so special. In the beg. of Dec. they have been asked to go and do some training with one of the top guys in the sport. He was there at the competition and saw the boys skip and so he asked them to come to him for three weeks and he would show all the stuff that he knows! And then after that they train again for another week somewhere else. I think that's how it works.
Ok gotta go it's tea time and I have lots of things to do this morning. Cheers. D

How are things?

Well I thought that I should update you on how things are going with me over here in cold Africa! Things are ok, first of all I am so happy to have Lindsay here and am so thankful to be able to see someone from home. The adjustment is made to being here and I am hardly homesick any more, but there are moments when it comes in small doses. The other day I was walking by some trees and they just smelled like our Jack pines at home and it made me think of being out at Darren and Lynda's place, and then when Lindsay was playing in church and I was standing in front of the piano I missed Darlene Senn at that moment a lot. I miss Darlene's kindness and love and laughter, she is such a great lady. And when Lindsay and I talk about Diny and Rob and Amanda and others, it brings back so many memories that I hadn't thought about in a while. I am so blessed to have had the people in my life that I have. God is so good to have brought these people into my life because I am better for them.
If you think about it please pray for me that when challenges come that I would seek the Lord in it and really learn to surrender my will and love others. At this moment I am having a bit of a big challenge and it's not always fun, but I know that God has a plan in it and that it will teach me to be more Christlike and not selfish. (well hopefully) Just please pray for my relationships here and that God would give me wisdom to know how to help others on my team when they need it and to make them feel loved and special. Sometimes the flesh in me rises up and says that it's not my responsibilty but if that is what God wants for me to do then it is for the best, because God is good and He will not give me more than I can handle. Sorry I know that it sounds kinda vague but I want to spare the details and just ask you to pray. Thank you so much I really appreciate it because I know that there are so many of you that are praying and for that I am so grateful. Ok gotta go it's tea time and I am cold. Please keep praying for Lindsay that she would adjust and feel welcome. It truly is a blessing to have her here! Ok cheers. D
